SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation details of NPRR258

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  QSEs, Resource Entities

DAY AFFECTED:  October 27, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On October 27, 2011, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 258, Synchronization with PRR824 and PRR833 and Additional Clarifications, which was approved by the ERCOT Board on November 16, 2010. NPRR258 will incorporate the governor droop setting (%) and dead-band (Hz) in the calculation of the Estimated Primary Frequency Response (EPFR) and Average Estimated Primary Frequency Response (AEPFR). AEPFR is a five-minute average of EPFR which is used in the calculation of Generation Resource Energy Deployment Performance (GREDP).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
