NOTICE DATE:  November 11, 2011

NOTICE TYPE:  M-A101211-02 Extracts/Reports – Retail/Wholesale

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  REMINDER – URL change for ERCOT report downloads

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  November 14, 2011, forward

LONG DESCRIPTION:  To maintain compatibility with the recent SSL upgrade used for business to business (B2B) communications, as well as the data center migration efforts, ERCOT will be making changes to the URLs used for report downloads. This change ensures consistency with all of ERCOT’s API traffic.

The URL changes will impact downloads from the following systems:

·         External Web Services (EWS)

·         Report Explorer on Texas Market Link (TML)

·         Market Information System (MIS)

·         Market Data Transparency (MDT) Web Services

These URL reference changes will impact downloading functionality only. Bookmarks or scripts with references to ‘contentproxy’ or ‘misapp’ for downloading documents should be updated.

The current download URL follows the below listed conventions:

·         /misapp/servlets/mirDownload?doclookupid=?

·         /contentproxy/proxy?doc_id=?

This change creates one common download URL that follows the convention below:

·         /misdownload/servlets/mirDownload?doclookupid=?

ERCOT has discovered an additional impact as a result of the above URL change. All Market Participants that have downloaded and saved any zonal Invoices or Settlement Statements viewed as HTML files will need to take the actions described below in order to open and view these saved files once the URL change is in place. Nodal XML files are not impacted.

Additionally, in support of the TML decommission efforts, ERCOT is moving the MDT services to the MIS. ERCOT is utilizing this URL change release in order to update the MDT URL as well. MDT users of the TML will be redirected to the MIS Market Data Transparency application link. All MDT users will need to update any saved bookmarks for the MDT services. The new MDT link is https://mis.ercot.com/mdt/.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Market Participants should discontinue use of any saved ‘bookmarks’ for downloads by November 14, 2011, and replace with the updated download URL.

Market Participants saving and viewing zonal HTML files should also copy and refer to the new stylesheets for Statements and Invoices, referred to below. These stylesheets are located in the ‘Zonal Statement Invoice XSL’ file on ERCOT.com, under the Retail section at http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/xsds/.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Note that this is a seamless change to users who access ERCOT.com or other ERCOT websites through a web browser to manually download reports.

To save and view zonal HTML files with a local stylesheet reference:

1.  Resave the zonal Statement or Invoice file to your local drive in a .zip format

2.  Extract the contents of the file

3.  Edit any of the extracted XML files (i.e. Invoices, Statements) that reference the zonal Statement or Invoice XSL or stylesheet

4.  Open the XML file to modify the XML-stylesheet reference (second line) to use local files

5.  To make this modification, modify the second line of the file:

Change<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="https://tml.ercot.com/ReportServer/ReportIncludes/xsl/GenerateParticipantInvoice.xsl"?>

To:  <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="<localpath> GenerateParticipantInvoice.xsl"?>

Where:  <localpath> is where you have saved the file

For example:  <drive>:\<folder path of extracted xsl files>\

6.  Save the modified XML file and launch it through a browser
