SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details for NPRR316

LONG DESCRIPTION: On December 9, 2011, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 316, Negative Self-Arranged Ancillary Services Quantity (formerly “Negative Self-Arranged Ancillary Services”), which was approved by the ERCOT Board on April 19, 2011. NPRR316 allows Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) to submit a negative value for a Self-Arranged Ancillary Service quantity; thus, requesting for ERCOT to procure the Ancillary Service quantity in the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) on behalf of the QSE. This implementation will unbox the grey-boxed language in Protocol Section 4.4.7.1.1, Negative Self-Arranged Ancillary Service Quantities, and Section 4.4.10, Credit Requirement for DAM Bids and Offers, pertaining to NPRR316.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
