SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation details for NPRR251

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 9, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On December 9, 2011, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 251, Synchronization of PRR845, Definition for IDR Meters and Optional Removal of IDR Meters at a Premise Where an Advanced Meter Can be Provisioned, which was approved by the ERCOT Board on September 21, 2010. NPRR251 clarifies the meaning of an Interval Data Recorder (IDR) Meter and provides for optional removal of IDR Meters under certain conditions for Premises where an Advanced Meter can be provisioned by the Transmission and/or Distribution Service Provider (TDSP). This implementation will unbox the grey-boxed language in Protocol Section 18.6.1, Interval Data Recorder Meter Mandatory Installation Requirements, and Section 18.6.2, Interval Data Recorder Administration Issues.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
