NOTICE DATE:  November 2, 2011

NOTICE TYPE:  W-A092311-05 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Clarification on the modified reports for the repeated DST hour

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  QSE operations personnel

DAYS AFFECTED:  October 27, 2011, forward

LONG DESCRIPTION:  This Notice provides further clarification on the modified reports for the repeated Daylight Saving Time (DST) hour. Reports which previously contained a column for DST data were not updated with a new DSTFlag column added to the end of the report. ERCOT is making use of the available columns for these reports. For reports without a DST data column, ERCOT has added the DSTFlag column to the end of the report.

The attached spreadsheet includes the columns and column order for each of the modified reports for the .csv format. For the XML format for each of these files, please refer to Current Day Reports XSD v1.0 available at http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/xsds/ for the structures supporting DST.

The spreadsheet includes the reports listed by source system and the expected DST data value for each report. The reports listed will have a RepeatedHourFlag, or DSTFlag column with a value of ‘Y’/’N’ or a value of ‘d’, ‘s’, or ‘x’ where ‘d’ represents Daylight Saving, ‘s’ represents Standard Time (non DST) and ‘x’ is used to indicate the repeated hour.

ERCOT has appended an xhr indicator in the file naming convention to create file uniqueness across the repeated hour files generated. The first file generated will post with the expected naming convention. The second file generated will appear with the _xhr designation.

Example:

cdr.ReportID.16DigitDuns.ddmmyyyy.hhmiss.filename_xhr_csv.zip

cdr.ReportID.16DigitDuns.ddmmyyyy.hhmiss.filename_xhr_xml.zip

A handful of state estimator reports are represented by a different DST column name. These reports, their columns and values are also included in the attached spreadsheet.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT released the column structure change with the Current Day Reports (CDR) monthly on-cycle release on October 26, 2011. These changes included the population of the new columns for DST hour flag as well as the data value of ‘N’.
