SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Final determination of RMR status for NRG Texas Power LLC, S.R. Bertron Units 3, 4 and GT2

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 2, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT received Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) on October 4, 2011, for the following Generation Resources:

• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRB_G3
• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRB_G4
• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRBGT_2

On October 28, 2011, ERCOT issued its initial determination stating that its preliminary review indicated that additional analysis would be needed to determine if these Resources would be required for Reliability Must-Run (RMR) Service.

ERCOT has completed its final assessment and is issuing its final determination that these Resources are not required for RMR Service. Therefore, these Resources may cease or suspend operations according to the schedule in their NSOs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT will post the analysis performed to arrive at its final determination on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area on the Grid/Generation page under Reliability Must Run at https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Generation. An ERCOT digital certificate is required to access the MIS.
