SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has scheduled a Drought Best Practices Workshop

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  February 27, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has scheduled a drought best practices workshop on February 27, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CPT in order to share the draft white papers for best practices concerning Generation and Transmission operations with respect to drought conditions. The morning session will be dedicated to Generation best practices, and the afternoon will be dedicated to Transmission best practices. The workshop will be held at the ERCOT Austin MET Center (http://www.ercot.com/about/locations/).

The draft agenda for the workshop is as follows:

Morning Session:  Generation Best Practices (9:00 – 11:00 am)

1)    ERCOT opening comments and Agenda  (15 minutes)

2)    Overview of white paper  (1 hour)

a.    Introduction

b.    Summary of key findings

c.    Best Practices and Recommendations

3)    Q&A – (30 minutes)

4)    Wrap-up ( 10 minutes)

 

Afternoon Session:  Transmission Best Practices (1:00 – 3:00 pm)

1)    ERCOT opening comments and overview of agenda  (5 minutes)

2)    Transmission Panel (1.5 hours)

a.    Agency Coordination

b.    Communication between TDSPs and ERCOT during EEA events

c.    H-frame issues

d.    Vegetation Management with Texas Forestry Service data services

e.    Contamination issues

f.     Coordination of transmission outages in constrained areas

g.    Lessons learned and program changes

3)    Panel Q&A – (20 minutes)

4)    Wrap-up ( 5 minutes – ERCOT)
