LONG DESCRIPTION: This is a reminder that ERCOT will release the new Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF) on March 19, 2012. Please refer to Notice W-A030912-01 below.

ERCOT will hold a WEBEX on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 13:00 to 15:00 to help familiarize REs with the new forms. Details of the WEBEX are contained below.

ACTION REQUIRED: Please review and complete the data on the new RARF form that will be emailed to your company by Monday, March 19, 2012.

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Release of RARF Version 5.0

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Resource Entities

DAY AFFECTED: March 15 and 19, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION: In order to consolidate data currently requested through various means, to provide for new required data fields and to accommodate new Resource types, ERCOT has redesigned the Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF). The new RARF has been re-formatted in order to better accommodate validating and processing Resource data. Among the changes are:

- The form has been rotated to allow an unlimited number of units and Transmission Equipment instead of the previous limitation.

- New fields have been added to collect information previously submitted through separate means.

- There are now separate forms for Generation, Wind, Combined Cycle, Load Resources and Transmission elements.

- Validation rules have been updated.

ERCOT will release the new RARF on March 19, 2012. A blank, sample copy of the package is attached. As of the implementation date, the previous version of the RARF will no longer be accepted by ERCOT. ERCOT will pre-populate and send a new RARF form for each Resource to the Resource Entity (RE) for use in submissions after March 19, 2012. Entities receiving these forms are requested to review the data, correct any discrepancies and begin using these forms for all RARF updates. The new form contains additional data elements that are being requested but will not be validated until the second phase of implementation, which will take place in the May-June timeframe.

Attached are documents containing sample forms of the new RARF package and a document detailing the business rules that were updated or removed for Phase I, and a document detailing the new fields that were added.
