SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation details of NPRR314

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  April 27, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On April 27, 2012, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 314, Requirements to Post Generation Resources Temporal Constraints, which was approved by the ERCOT Board on July 19, 2011.

NPRR314 requires a posting from ERCOT (updated at least hourly) on the Market Information System (MIS) Certified Area for each Off-Line Generation Resource that may be selected by a Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) process, which is to include the following:

·         The current time since the Generation Resource last went Off-Line (in hours)

·         The corresponding start-up times ERCOT is using for each such Off-Line Generation Resource

The new report, Hourly RUC Off-Line Generation Resources Initial Conditions (NP5-300-CD), will be posted on the Market Information System (MIS) on the Grid/Generation page in the Reliability Unit Commitment portlet. The report ID is 13075. The Current Day Reports XSD v3.0 posted on ERCOT.com (http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/xsds/) contains information about this report.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
