SHORT DESCRIPTION: REMINDER – Implementation details of NPRR361

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION: On April 27, 2012, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 361, Real-Time Wind Power Production Data Transparency, which was approved by the ERCOT Board on August 16, 2011.

NPRR361 adds a new public report to be posted every five minutes that provides, on both a system-wide and regional basis (West and North, South and Houston), the five-minute actual wind power production for a rolling historical 60-minute period. ERCOT will begin posting the Wind Power Production – Actual 5-Minute Averaged Values report (NP4-733-CD), in accordance with NPRR361, during the April release.

NPRR361 also changes the existing hourly Actual and Forecasted Regional Wind Production report (NP4-732-CD) to provide the following information on both a system-wide and regional basis:

· Aggregate Wind-powered Generation Resource (WGR) Power Output

· Aggregate Short-term Wind Power Forecast (STWPF)

· Aggregate Wind-powered Generation Resource Production Potential (WGRPP)

· Aggregate Current Operating Plan (COP) High Sustained Limits (HSLs) for On-line WGRs

Note that the Actual and Forecasted Regional Wind Production report will be renamed to Wind Power Production – Hourly Averaged Actual and Forecasted Values with the April release.

These reports will complement the Forecasted and Actual Wind Power Production Dashboard implemented on December 8, 2011, in accordance with System Change Request (SCR) 765, Public Aggregated Wind Dashboard.

Because the STWPF, WGRPP, System-wide wind output and COP HSL will be included in the Wind Power Production – Hourly Averaged Actual and Forecasted Values report, the current Aggregated Wind Generation Resource Power Potential Forecast report (NP4-730-SG) will be discontinued with the April release.

The certified report, Wind Generation Resource Power Potential Forecast report (NP4-731-SG), is not affected by NPRR361 and will continue in its current format and frequency.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.

The Wind Power Production – Actual 5-Minutes Averaged Values report will be located on ERCOT.com on the Grid Information/Generation page. It will also be located on the Grid/Generation/Public Generation Information portlet on the Market Information System (MIS).

The Actual and Forecasted Regional Wind Production report is located on ERCOT.com on the Market Information/Day-Ahead Market page. It is also located on the Markets/Day-Ahead Market/Day-Ahead Public Information portlet on the MIS. However, with the April release, the new report name, Wind Power Production – Hourly Averaged Actual and Forecasted Values, will be located on the Grid/Forecasts/Wind Generation Forecasts portlet in MIS.
