LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT implemented a software fix on September 12, 2012, which has stabilized and resolved the issue related to intermittent failures of solving and posting Real-Time Indicative Prices and Base Points. See Market Notice W-A083112-01 below for further details.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Intermittent issue with Real-Time Indicative Prices and Base Points

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  August 31, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION:  With the market-facing release this week, there have been instances where the Real-Time Indicative Prices and Base Points were not calculated for the 5-minute indicative reports below. The root cause has been linked to the introduction of the STARTUP and SHUTDOWN telemetered Resources Statuses associated with the implementation of Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 348, Generation Resource Start-Up and Shut-Down process. Under certain scenarios that are brief in duration, the indicative prices and Base Points are not properly calculated and do not post. ERCOT is working towards resolution and will send a follow-up Market Notice when complete.
