NOTICE DATE: September 26, 2012
NOTICE TYPE: M-A092612-01 General - Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate upgrade
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Upgrade of the misapi.ercot.com Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate
INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: October 1, 2012 from 18:55 - 19:00
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will upgrade the expiring Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate used by ERCOT's External Web Services (EWS) API (misapi.ercot.com) on October 1, 2012, between 18:55 and 19:00.
This is part of ERCOT's ongoing effort to upgrade all Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates used to secure ERCOT websites to 2048-bit RSA keys.
ACTION REQUIRED: All market participants that communicate with the ERCOT EWS API (misapi.ercot.com) will need to install the updated public key into the application's key store for validated Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) submissions.
Failure to replace the current public key once the upgrade is complete will prevent the market participant API from connecting to ERCOT for submissions and queries.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The certificate is available for download at the following link:
