SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT to host Nodal Market Workshop for Load Serving Entities
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Load Serving Entities (Retail Electric Providers and Non Opt-In Entities) – Personnel responsible for energy trades, risk management
or hedging exposure to congestion costs

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will host a workshop on cost exposure associated with serving load in the ERCOT nodal market.
The workshop will focus on challenges facing Load Serving Entities (LSEs) in managing their exposure to congestion and the market tools available to manage their exposure. Special attention will be given to costs
for congestion between Hubs and Load Zones incurred by LSEs as a result of bilateral trades for energy arranged with delivery to ERCOT hubs.
The session will begin with presentations by ERCOT on costs of serving load in the ERCOT nodal market and tools available to LSEs to mitigate their exposure. This will be followed by scenarios depicting recent
market events with significant hub to load zone congestion.
A panel discussion will follow with panel members sharing their experiences in management of load related costs in the nodal market with a focus on hedging against hub to load zone congestion exposure. This will
be followed by a moderated question and answer session on the risks and opportunities of serving load in the ERCOT nodal market based on questions submitted to ERCOT prior to the workshop or from the audience.
