NOTICE TYPE: M-A111312-02 NPRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Registration of new Market Participant type as a result of the implementation of NPRR260

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 4, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION: On March 4, 2013, Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 260, Providing Access to MIS Secure Area to MIS Registered Users, which was approved by the ERCOT Board of Directors (ERCOT Board) on January 18, 2011. NPRR260 adds a new Market Participant type called the Independent Market Information System Registered Entity (IMRE). An IMRE will have access to the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area and will also be bound by the ERCOT Protocols when it signs the Standard Form Market Participant Agreement (SFA).

To allow for processing time prior to the March 4, 2013, effective date, ERCOT has made the IMRE Market Participant type available for registration. Entities who complete the registration process prior to the implementation date will receive Digital Certificates required to access the MIS Secure Area on March 4, 2013, or as soon as practicable thereafter. Entities that will be transitioning participation from a non-IMRE to an IMRE registration may request IMRE USA Digital Certificate starting February 25, 2013 for uninterrupted access to the MIS Secure Area.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: IMRE registration information can be found on the ERCOT website, under Services, at http://www.ercot.com/services/rq/imre/index.

Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.

NPRR260 and associated documents can be found on the ERCOT website, under Market Rules, at http://www.ercot.com/mktrules/issues/nprr/251-275/260/index.
