NOTICE DATE:  March 18, 2013

NOTICE TYPE:  W-A031813-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Revision to Outage Scheduler entry for Maintenance Outage Level Designation

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  QSEs and TSPs

DAY AFFECTED:  Upon implementation of SCR770, currently planned for September 23-26, 2013.

LONG DESCRIPTION:  Currently, the Outage Scheduler system automatically determines the level for each Maintenance Outage based on the date the outage request is submitted and the Planned Start of the outage.  Levels (Outage Types) are determined as follows:

• Maintenance Level 1 – The Planned Start is within 24 hours from the outage request submission

• Maintenance Level 2 – The Planned Start is between 25 hours and 7 days from the outage request

• Maintenance Level 3 – The Planned Start is between 8 days and 30 days from the outage request

Upon implementation of SCR770, QSEs and TSPs will need to provide the requested Planned Start date and the level (Outage Type) for each Maintenance Outage.  The level will no longer be automatically determined.

ACTION REQUIRED:  QSEs and TSPs using ERCOT Web Services (EWS) may need to change the value of “outage Type” that is submitted with each Maintenance Outage.  The ERCOT Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) system is currently planned to be available for QSE and TSP testing from July 8, 2013 – September 6, 2013.  A Testing Guide will be supplied prior to these dates.
