SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Proposal to add Permian Basin SPS

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 14, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT received a proposal to add a Special Protection System (SPS #50) at the Permian Basin from Oncor Electric Delivery (Oncor). The proposed SPS #50 intends to protect against overloading of the Permian Basin SES - Wink Sub 138 kV line, Permian Basin SES - Ward Gulf Tap - Wink 138 kV line, and Permian Basin SES - Barilla 138 kV lines under various system conditions.

The proposed SPS #50 is being reviewed by ERCOT. Comments on the proposed SPS are due by May 14, 2013, and should be submitted to [log in to unmask] using the attached comment form. Any questions or concerns raised during this timeframe will be addressed by ERCOT Staff or the entity submitting the SPS proposal.

Information regarding SPSs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) under “Special Protection Systems and Remedial Action Plans” at https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Long+Term+Planning. A digital certificate is required to access the MIS.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Any comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by May 14, 2013, using the attached form.
