SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation of maximum shadow price for an irresolvable non-competitive constraint in SCED

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On December 11, 2012, the ERCOT Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) approved the ERCOT Business Practice, Setting the Shadow Price Caps and Power Balance Penalties in Security Constrained Economic Dispatch Version 6, with an effective date of December 12, 2012.

 

On May 20, 2013, ERCOT implemented a maximum shadow price for a non-competitive constraint that was found to be irresolvable and also met the criteria of Section 3.6.1(B) of the business practice document. The contingency/constraint pair and maximum shadow price (set in accordance with Section 3.6.2) are as follows:
