SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details for NPRR385, Negative Price Floor (formerly “Security Violation Analysis and Reporting and Negative Price Floor”)

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  September 23 – 27, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION: Between September 23 - 27, 2013, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 385, Negative Price Floor (formerly “Security Violation Analysis and Reporting and Negative Price Floor”), which was approved by the ERCOT Board on December 11, 2012.

NPRR385 adds an administrative price floor of negative $251/MWh for each:

· Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) Settlement Point Locational Marginal Price (LMP) used in the calculation of 15-minute Real Time Settlement Point Prices (RTSPP and RTSPPEW);

· SCED Resource LMP published through Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP);

· SCED Electrical Bus LMP used in the calculation of Real Time Resource Meter Prices (RTRMPR and RTRMPRWSL); and

· Day-Ahead Settlement Point Price (DASPP).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
