SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Proposal to Disable Benbrook Switching Station SPS #41 and #42

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  July 7, 2014

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has received a proposal to disable the Benbrook Switching Station Special Protection Schemes (SPS #41 and #42). Benbrook SPSs were designed to protect loading of the 345/138 kV autotransformers at the Benbrook Switching station. Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC (Oncor) has indicated that post-retirement, these SPSs will be operated with supervisory control and switched manually when necessary. 

The proposal to disable the Benbrook Switching station Special Protection Schemes (SPS #41 and #42) is being reviewed by ERCOT as described in the SPS Approval Procedure. Comments on the proposal are due by July 7, 2014 and should be submitted to [log in to unmask] using the attached comment form. 

 

Any questions or concerns raised during this timeframe will be addressed by ERCOT Staff or the entity submitting the SPS proposal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Information regarding SPSs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) under Special Protection Systems and Remedial Action Plans.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Any comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by July 7, 2014 using the attached form.
