LONG DESCRIPTION:  Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) will host a half-day Generator Winter Preparedness Workshop on September 10, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Central Time at the Texas RE offices at 805 Las Cimas Parkway, Suite 200, Austin, TX 78746.  The agenda for the workshop has been posted and registration is now open.

The workshop is geared towards personnel in the generation sector—especially plant managers and staff involved in winterization—and will feature presenters from Texas RE, ERCOT, Wise County Plant/SUEZ, Gregory Power Plant/NRGTX, AES Buffalo Gap/Direct Energy, and Diamond Thermal.  We seek to review best practices and recent guidelines to solidify the lessons learned since the February 2011 cold weather event and demonstrate continued commitment to readiness in the ERCOT region.
