NOTICE DATE: October 27, 2014 NOTICE TYPE: W-A102714-01 Operations SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation of maximum shadow price for an irresolvable constraint in SCED INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants DAY AFFECTED: October 27, 2014 LONG DESCRIPTION: On October 27, 2014, ERCOT is implementing a modified maximum shadow price for a constraint that was found to be irresolvable per the criteria defined in Section 3.6.1of the business practice document, "Setting the Shadow Price Caps and Power Balance Penalties in Security Constrained Economic Dispatch." The contingency/constraint pair and maximum shadow price (set in accordance with Section 3.6.2 of that same document) are as follows: Contingency Name Constraint Name Description Maximum Shadow Price SMDFHLT8 6596__F Loss of the 138 kV line from Bakke Tap to Unocal Parker Bakke overloading the 69 kV line from Emma Tap - Holt Switch $2,800 Note that the maximum shadow price calculation resulted in the same value as the 69 kV generic shadow price limit. Therefore, the maximum shadow price for this contingency/constraint pair remains unchanged.
