SHORT DESCRIPTION: Updates made to Resource Interconnection Handbook
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: December 12, 2014
LONG DESCRIPTION: An updated version of the Resource Interconnection Handbook<http://www.ercot.com/content/services/rq/re/reg/Resource%20Interconnection%20Handbook.pdf> has been posted to the ERCOT website. The handbook provides an overview of the process an Interconnecting Entity or a Resource Entity and its Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) must follow through the Generation Interconnection Process. ERCOT staff has been working on this update with various stakeholder groups to address questions and concerns from market participants, provide additional transparency, incorporate lessons learned and better define requirements and timelines for the various stages of the interconnection process.
In addition to the revised Resource Interconnection Handbook<http://www.ercot.com/content/services/rq/re/reg/Resource%20Interconnection%20Handbook.pdf>, ERCOT has also posted the following documents to the Resource Entities<http://www.ercot.com/services/rq/re/index.html> page of the ERCOT website.

1. ERCOT New Generator Commissioning Checklist<http://www.ercot.com/content/services/rq/re/reg/ERCOT%20New%20Generator%20Commissioning%20Checklist.doc> (Revised)

2. Commissioning Plan Template<http://www.ercot.com/content/services/rq/re/reg/Commissioning_Plan_Template.xls> (New)
The handbook contains a detailed description on the use of these documents in coordination of activities between ERCOT, the Resource Entity and/or its QSE during the last few weeks of testing before a new Resource is cleared for full participation in the ERCOT market.
The revised handbook describes ERCOT's current process for interconnection of new generation. Accordingly, Market Participants are encouraged to use the revised commissioning plan template and checklist to take advantage of the improvements made but ERCOT will work to accommodate those that are currently in the last stages of the interconnection process.
