SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Potential for improper reporting of NIDR 867_03 Cancel transactions

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 20, 2014

LONG DESCRIPTION:  During the December 20 NIDR 867_03 data loading job, which began at 15:00, a processing issue occurred. After review of the issue, the decision was made to stop the NIDR loading job and restart it. The response messages that had been logged prior to the issue were not retained.  When the cancels were processed again due to the restart of the job, the secondary response may have reported a different result than was first reported.  (i.e. a cancel transaction that would have initially been reported as a successful cancel (00 Transaction cancelled successfully)  may have reported as an 07 (Cancellation does not match an existing read) due to reprocessing.

ERCOT has identified 787 cancel transaction responses that were previously processed before the issue was experienced and will provide an accounting of each NIDR cancel transaction from the December 20 loading run to affected TDSPs and REPs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

·         Only NIDR 867_03 cancel transactions were affected

·         IDR 867_03 transactions were not affected
