INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: August 5, 2015
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has received a proposal from Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) to retire the Parkway Special Protection System (SPS). The Parkway SPS was designed to monitor and relieve thermal violations on the Schertz to Parkway 138kV line (361T361). The exit strategy on file for this SPS is to upgrade the thermal rating of the Schertz to Parkway 138kV line from 220 MVA to 358 MVA. LCRA has indicated that this exit strategy has been implemented.
ERCOT has completed its review of the proposal to disable the Parkway SPS and is recommending that the Parkway SPS be removed.
The Parkway SPS is scheduled to be permanently removed from the field on August 5, 2015.
