The FERC has posted their proposed rulemaking for the GMD Standard in the Federal Register (See attachment.).  The comment period ends on 7/27/2015.  In the attached document the FERC discusses the improvements they want NERC to make to the standard and additional work they want performed to develop a better understanding of the GMD phenomena and its impact on the transmission system.

 

Work is continuing on the procedures.  We may not be able to finish the procedures until the FERC makes a final decision on the rule and NERC responds to the FERC’s requests.

 

I will call a meeting in July or August to provide an update on procedure and to discuss the next assignments for our Task Force.
