SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR686

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On December 10, 2015, Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 686, Changing the IRR Forecast from Next 48 Hours to Next 168 Hours, will be partially implemented.  NPRR686 was approved by the ERCOT Board on June 9, 2015.

ERCOT currently produces an hourly report that provides wind-powered production actuals for the last 48 hours and forecasts for the next 48 hours.  The portion of NPRR686 being implemented changes the Short-Term Wind Power Forecast (STWPF) requirement to account for a rolling 168-hour hourly forecast of wind production potential for each Wind-powered Generation Resource (WGR). This report will remain on the Market Information System (MIS) Public Area Grid–Forecasts page and on the ERCOT.com Grid Information–Generation page. Report details follow.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
