SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Final Settlement values added to monthly demand and energy reports

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  December 2015 and future monthly Demand and Energy Reports

LONG DESCRIPTION:  To improve accuracy and consistency of its reporting, ERCOT is making a change to its monthly Demand and Energy (D&E) report.  Beginning with an update to the December 2015 D&E report, which is posted monthly to the ERCOT website and the Market Information System (MIS), ERCOT will update the report each month with system demand and energy values from Final Settlement Statements. The report previously included only values from Initial Settlement Statements.

ERCOT issues Initial Settlement Statements on the fifth day following the Operating DayFinal Settlement Statements are issued on the 55th day following the Operating Day, with updated information received after Initial Settlement Statements.

The updated December D&E report reflects system demand and energy values from Final Settlement Statements for the months of August through October 2015.  Values that have been updated based on Final Settlement Statements are indicated in the report files.  ERCOT will continue to publish monthly D&E reports with system demand and energy values from Initial Settlement Statements following the end of each month. However, these Initial Settlement Statement values will be updated after two months as values from Final Settlement Statements become available.  For example, the January 2016 report will show values from Initial Settlement Statements for December 2015 (same value as in the previous monthly report) and new values for January 2016 along with system demand and energy for November 2015 updated with values from Final Settlement Statements.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The monthly D&E reports are posted on the Reports and Presentations page of the ERCOT’s website as well as the “Settlement Reports and Extracts” portlet on the Settlements page of the Market Information System. Access to the MIS requires a Digital CertificateIf you do not already have a Digital Certificate and require access, please contact your company’s User Security Administrator (USA).
