NOTICE DATE:  January 15, 2016

NOTICE TYPE:  M-A112515-02 NPRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Additional Implementation Details of NPRR615

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  February 10, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On February 10, 2016, ERCOT will begin posting the 168 hour Short-Term PhotoVoltaic Power Forecast (STPPF) as specified in Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 615, PVGR Forecasting, for PhotoVoltaic Generation Resources (PVGRs) to the Market Information System (MIS). NPRR615 states that Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) representing PVGRs are to limit the High Sustained Limit (HSL) values submitted for the entire 168-hour range of the Current Operating Plan (COP) to the value not exceeding the most recent STPPF.

ERCOT is working with QSEs through January 2016 to test QSE readiness to comply with NPRR615.

Three new Public reports will be available effective February 10, 2016 in support of NPRR615:

·         Aggregated Solar Resource Power Potential Forecast, EMIL ID NP4-739-SG, Report Type ID 13498.  The MIS link will be located on the Grid > Forecasts page in the Renewable Generation Forecasts portlet.

·         Solar Power Production - Actual 5-minute averaged values, EMIL ID NP4-738-CD, Report Type ID 13484.  The MIS link will be located on the Grid > Generation page in the Public Generation Information portlet.

·         Solar Power Production - Hourly averaged actual and forecasted values, EMIL ID NP4-737-CD, Report Type ID 13483.  The MIS link will be located on the Grid > Forecasts page in the Renewable Generation Forecasts portlet.

Updated Current Day Reports and the EIP External Interfaces Specification XSD documents are provided on the ERCOT website at http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/xsds/index.html.

NOTICE TYPE:  M-A112515-01 NPRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR588 and NPRR615

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 10, 2015

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On December 10, 2015, Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 588, Clarifications for PV Generation Resources, and NPRR615, PVGR Forecasting, will be partially implemented. NPRR588 was approved by the ERCOT Board on June 10, 2014.  NPRR615 was approved by the ERCOT Board on August 12, 2014.

NPRR588 creates a definition for PhotoVoltaic Generation Resource (PVGR) and clarifies the treatment of PVGRs within the Protocols.

NPRR615 establishes a definition for Short-Term PhotoVoltaic Power Forecast (STPPF) and clarifies the use of the STPPF within the Protocols.

A new certified report link will be added to the QSE Forecasts and Load portlet for NP4-736-SG, Solar Generation Resource Power Potential Forecast (Report Type ID 13482), on the Day-Ahead Market page in ERCOT’s Market Information System (MIS).  Additionally, certain supporting language will be unboxed in Section 4.2.3, PhotoVoltaic Generation Resource Production Potential, Section 2.1, Definitions, and Section 3.10.7.2, Modeling of Resources and Transmission Loads.

Beginning in January 2016, this link will enable Market Participants to test their internal processes for downloading and incorporating the STPFF into their systems.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.

NPRR588 and associated documents can be found on the ERCOT website.

NPRR615 and associated documents can be found on the ERCOT website.

This definition was unboxed with R6 so I don’t think we need this in there.  It’s already in Section 2 of the Protocols.
