SHORT DESCRIPTION: Updates to Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint Methodology

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  March 14, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has completed modifying its systems to incorporate a static set of Weighted Short Circuit Ratio (WSCR) limits when determining limits for the Panhandle Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in real-time and Day-Ahead assessments.  This notice is a follow up to notice W-D073115-02 Operations issued on February 18, 2016.  Beginning March 14, 2016, ERCOT will include WSCR limits in its real-time and Day-Ahead assessments for the Panhandle GTC.  A project to implement software that assesses the system and calculates WSCR limits in real-time is expected to be delivered in Q3 2016.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area in the “Generic Transmission Constraints” portlet.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
