SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Proposal to Modify Stryker Creek Special Protection System

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  Comments due April 7, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has received a proposal from Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) to modify the Special Protection System (SPS) at Stryker Creek Switching Station (Stryker Creek). The Stryker Creek SPS is designed to monitor and relieve thermal violations on the Stryker Creek to Palestine South 138 kV line (1255_B) and the Stryker Creek to Troup 138 kV line (1820_A).

Oncor implemented a rebuild project in the fall of 2015 that increases the static emergency rating of Stryker Creek Sw. Sta. to Troup 138 kV line from 239 MVA to 487 MVA and hence is proposing to modify the SPS.

The proposed modifications to the Stryker Creek SPS are being reviewed by ERCOT. Comments on the proposal are due by April 7, 2016 and should be submitted to [log in to unmask]  using the attached comment form.  Any questions or concerns submitted by this date will be addressed by ERCOT or Oncor.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Any comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by April 7, 2016, using the attached form.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Information regarding all SPSs can be found in the “Special Protection Systems and Remedial Action Plans” portlet located on the Long-Term Planning page of ERCOT’s Market Information System (MIS). A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.

CONTACT:  If you have any questions, please contact your ERCOT Account Manager. You may also call the general ERCOT Client Services phone number at (512) 248-3900 or contact ERCOT Client Services via email at [log in to unmask].
