SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Updates to Reserve Discount Factors used in calculating Physical Responsive Capability

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  September 30, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will update the Reserve Discount Factor (RDF) used in the calculation of Physical Responsive Capability (PRC) at 10 AM on September 30, 2016. The current RDF of 0.99 (1%) for temperature above 95 F will change to 1 (RDF = 0%). This updated RDF was endorsed by the Reliability and Operations Subcommittee (ROS) at its September 8, 2016 meeting per paragraph (7) of Protocol Section 8.1.1.2, General Capacity Testing Requirements. ERCOT previously updated the RDF to 1 (RDF = 0%) for temperature at and below 95 F (see appended W-A041916-01 Operations Market Notice dated April 19, 2016).

ERCOT will post the currently approved RDFs to the Market Information System (MIS) Public Area and under Real-Time Supporting Information at the following link as required by paragraph (4) of Protocol Section 6.5.7.5, Ancillary Services Capacity Monitor:

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Updates to Reserve Discount Factors used in calculating Physical Responsive Capability 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 2, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will update the Reserve Discount Factors (RDF) used in the calculation of Physical Responsive Capability (PRC) at 10 AM on May 2, 2016. The current RDF of 0.98 (2%) for temperature above 95 F will change to 0.99 (1%) and the existing RDF of 0.99 (1%) for temperature less than or equal to 95 F will change to 1 (0%) RDF. The updated RDF were endorsed by Reliability and Operations Subcommittee (ROS) in its April 7, 2016 meeting as required by Protocols Section 8.1.1.2 (7).
