PGDTF,

Attached is an Excel workbook template you can use to record your GIC System Model data.  We modified the headings used by Siemens PTI to reduce the chances of confusion because they were not totally in synch with the approved GIC System Model Procedure Manual.

I received a question about the temperature to be used for the dc resistance of transformer windings (ohms/phase).  At the last PGDTF meeting, we agreed to follow page #19 and #20 from the attached GIC Application Guide which states “Measured dc resistance of each winding at nominal tap and adjusted to 75 °C”.  Please read the note on page #20 regarding the resistance information on the transformer test report.

PGDTF will meet at the Met Center on 9/28/2016.  One of the agenda items will be a discussion of the GIC System Model data.

Regards,
