SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR713, SCR787, and NOGRR147

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 9, 2016

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 713, Reactive Power Testing Requirements, System Change Request (SCR) 787, Maintain NDCRC Data For Generator Transfer Between Resource Entities, and Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) 147, Reactive Power Testing Requirements, on December 9, 2016.  NPRR713 was approved by the ERCOT Board on February 9, 2016, SCR787 was approved by the ERCOT Board on April 19, 2016, and NOGRR147 was approved by the ERCOT Board on February 9, 2016. 

NPRR713 revises the language in Section 8.1.1.2.1.4, Voltage Support Service Qualification, to reference the reactive power testing requirements in the Nodal Operating Guides and to align with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards.

SCR787 enhances the Net Dependable Capability and Reactive Capability (NDCRC) application to provide historical generator information to all associated Resource Entities.

NOGRR147 revises the language in Section 3.3.2.1, Corrected Unit Reactive Limits (CURL), to align the ERCOT reactive testing requirements with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, and Nodal Operating Guide Section 1.3.6, Nodal Operating Guide Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
