SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Communication of System Operating Limits Methodology for the Planning and Operations Horizons

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  NERC-registered Transmission Operators and Transmission Planners

DAY AFFECTED:  April 1, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT, as the NERC-registered Reliability Coordinator and Planning Authority, is required to issue any changes to its System Operating Limit (SOL) Methodology to any Transmission Operator or Transmission Planner in its area.  Attached is a new revision to the ERCOT SOL Methodology for Planning and Operations Horizon.  This version will become effective on April 1, 2017.

Comments can be submitted to [log in to unmask].  Please provide comments before February 17, 2017 to allow time for edits and responses before the effective date.  ERCOT will provide a documented response within 45 calendar days of receiving any documented technical comments on the methodology.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The revised methodology will also be posted on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) on the Grid – Long-Term Planning page in the Long-Term Planning Methodologies portlet.
