SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Update - Communication of System Operating Limits Methodology for the Planning and Operations Horizons

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  NERC-registered Transmission Operators and Transmission Planners

DAY AFFECTED:  April 1, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT ISO, as the Reliability Coordinator and Planning Authority, is required to issue any changes to its System Operating Limit Methodology to any Transmission Operator or Transmission Planner in its area.  Attached is a new revision to the ERCOT planning horizon and operations horizon System Operating Limit (SOL) methodology, based on comments received from commenters and additional review since the previous Market Notice on January 17, 2017.  This version will become effective on April 1, 2017.  ERCOT will provide a documented response within 45 calendar days of receiving any documented technical comments on the methodology.  Comments can be submitted directly to [log in to unmask].

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The new version of this methodology will also be posted on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) on the Grid – Long-Term Planning page in the Long-Term Planning Methodologies portlet in the ERCOT System Operating Limit (SOL) Methodology link on April 1, 2017.
