NOTICE DATE:  May 3, 2017

NOTICE TYPE:  M-B050317-01 CRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Changes to CRR Network Model files associated with enhancements to model build tools

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRR Account Holders

DAYS AFFECTED:  April 25, 2017, forward

LONG DESCRIPTION:  Associated with the ERCOT Network Modeling Management System (NMMS) Upgrade Project, there have been enhancements to some of the Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) model building tools. As a result of the enhancements, the following changes will be observed in CRR Network Models.

·         More temporary split buses are being created due to outages. The split buses are represented with a 900,000 series bus number and are listed in the Sources and Sinks file and the Mapping Document.

o   The additional split buses began with the CRR Network Model postings for the 2017.JUN.Monthly.Auction and the 2018.1st6.AnnualAuction.Seq2 CRR Auction (both posted on April 25, 2017), and this behavior is expected in all future CRR Network Models.

·         Contingency definitions will reflect the new 900,000 series bus numbers, which will be listed in the CRR Network Model Contingencies file. This improvement will align the CRR and Market Management System (MMS) (Day-Ahead and Reliability Unit Commitment) contingency definitions to the Energy Management System (EMS) contingency definitions, so all systems will have common contingency definitions after the NMMS upgrade.

o   The CRR Network Model posting for the 2017.JUL.Monthly.Auction (to be posted on May 30, 2017) will be the first model to consider 900,000 series bus numbers in the contingency definitions, and this behavior is expected in all future CRR Network Models.
