SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Final Meeting for Extended ETT Outages on Certain CREZ 345 kV Transmission Lines in Northwest Texas

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  July 11, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On July 11, 2017, ERCOT will host a final meeting on the extended Outages of 345 kV transmission lines submitted by Electric Transmission Texas, LLC (ETT) described in the Market Notices below.  This is in response to the requests for a follow up meeting made at the June 15, 2017 WebEx. The purpose is to provide an open forum where participants can offer constructive input for ETT’s scheduling consideration.

This meeting will occur at ERCOT’s Austin office.  Participants wishing to present Outage schedule proposals during this meeting must send a request to their ERCOT Account Manager before the close of business Wednesday, June 28, along with a requested presentation duration for their materials.  Note that this duration may be limited based on the number of presentation requests submitted.  Further note that the specifics of ETT’s Outages (e.g., clearances and dates) are reflected in the Outage Scheduler on the MIS Secure Area as required by the ERCOT Protocols and therefore materials should not disclose the specifics of such Outages in an open forum.  ERCOT will post an agenda to the meeting site by close of business June 30.

NOTICE DATE:  May 19, 2017

NOTICE TYPE:  W-A051917-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Extended Outages on Certain CREZ 345 kV Transmission Lines in Northwest Texas

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  Now through November 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  Electric Transmission Texas, LLC (ETT), a Transmission Service Provider (TSP) in the ERCOT Region, has submitted a series of extended Outages in the ERCOT Outage Scheduler for certain 345 kV transmission lines that ETT built as part of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) project.  During these Outages, ETT will inspect and, if necessary, replace transmission structure components as a part of a warranty claim.

Similar work is already occurring on the Cottonwood to Edith Clark 345 kV transmission line, another ETT-owned CREZ transmission line in Northwest Texas.  Outages on this transmission line have occurred for several months and are expected to continue through August 2017.

Due to the long-term duration of these Outages, this Notice is intended to inform Market Participants that these Outages will occur on the following transmission lines over a period of the next 18 months:

·         Edith Clark to Clear Crossing

·         Riley to Edith Clark

·         Tesla to Riley

·         Tesla to Edith Clark

·         Clear Crossing to Dermott

·         Clear Crossing to West Shackelford

Pursuant to the ERCOT Protocols, specific information regarding timing and duration of the Outages for these transmission lines are entered and maintained in the ERCOT Outage Scheduler and will be updated by ETT as necessary.  ERCOT will coordinate these Outages to minimize and mitigate any potential reliability impacts on the ERCOT System.
