LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has developed a new instructor-led course, Resource 301. This course presents the operation of
Generation and Load Resources in the ERCOT Markets in greater detail, expanding upon the concepts in the
Wholesale Markets 201 course (previously named Basic Training Program). The target audience includes Resource Entities and Qualified Scheduling Entities
that represent Resources. Topics include:

Types of Resources in ERCOT
·
Requirements for operating Resources in ERCOT
·
The roles of Resource Entities and QSEs in managing Resources
·
Resource commitment and dispatch in the ERCOT Market processes.
·
Resource constraints and their impact on Market and System Operations
·
Financial outcomes for Resources in ERCOT Markets
Knowledge of the concepts presented in
Wholesale Markets 201
is a prerequisite for the Resource 301 course.
Resource 301 will be available on a regular basis
beginning in August, 2017. The current schedule and locations of this course are shown below:

In addition, ERCOT has revised the instructor-led course previously known as the Basic Training Program to better align the content with the rest of its courses including Resources 301. Wholesale
Markets 201 is a comprehensive study of ERCOT Wholesale Market Operations. This three-day course explores the operational and financial requirements of the Day-Ahead Market, Reliability
Unit Commitment and Real-Time Market processes. The course is designed for Qualified Scheduling Entities, but will also benefit Resource Entities, Load Serving Entities and anyone requiring a detailed study of ERCOT Wholesale Market Operations.
