NOTICE DATE:  July 19, 2017

NOTICE TYPE:  M-A071917-01 CRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  CRR MUI upgrade

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRR Account Holders and Counter-Parties

DAYS AFFECTED:  September 18 – December 8, 2017, and January 22, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) Market User Interface (MUI) will be upgraded on January 22, 2018, to be compatible with the latest web browsers and to remove Java applets and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) requirement.

Prior to the implementation of the upgraded MUI, ERCOT will conduct a requalification of all registered CRR Account Holders and their Counter-Parties to ensure that they can use the new MUI to perform auction activities. The requalification will be very similar to the current qualification test for new CRR Account Holders, and passing the test will be required to participate in any CRR auctions taking place after the upgrade is implemented. The requalification period is scheduled for September 18 – December 8, 2017. MUI training materials will be posted to the CRR webpage prior to the requalification period, and ERCOT will hold multiple WebEx sessions to demonstrate the new interface. More training details will be provided in a future Market Notice.

The requalification test will be performed in the Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE), which will require each CRR Account Holder and their Counter-Party to have an active MOTE digital certificate. An active digital certificate for the current MOTE CRR application will also be valid for the new MUI in MOTE.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Please confirm access to MOTE (https://testing.ercot.com/) with a valid digital certificate prior to the start of the requalification period. If needed, registered User Security Administrators (USAs) can request digital certificates via email to [log in to unmask].

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  A new list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the CRR MUI upgrade, CRR Market User Interface Upgrade FAQ, can be found on the CRR webpage at http://www.ercot.com/mktinfo/crr. ERCOT will provide project updates at each Congestion Management Working Group (CMWG) meeting leading up to the implementation date.
