SHORT DESCRIPTION: In-Service Placement of CREZ and Non-CREZ Series Capacitors
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: August 10, 2017
LONG DESCRIPTION: In accordance with Market Notice W-A070717-01, at approximately 10:00 on August 10, 2017, the AEP/ETT series capacitors at the Gauss, Edison, Oersted, and Kirchhoff substations will be placed
into service as appropriate.
If the energization of these series capacitors is successful, the Cross Texas Transmission series capacitors at the Cross substation will also be placed in service as appropriate.
Please refer to the ERCOT Outage Scheduler for further information with respect to series capacitor status at these stations.
ERCOT will provide additional Market Notices for the other CREZ transmission lines as their series capacitors are placed in-service to assist Market Participants in preparations for this activity.

LONG DESCRIPTION: In accordance with Market Notice W-A070717-01, at approximately 09:55 on July 13, 2017, the AEP/ETT series capacitors at Cenizo and Del Sol substations were placed into service. At approximately
15:18, the Lonestar series capacitors at the Romney and Kopperl substations were placed into service. Please refer to the ERCOT Outage Scheduler for further information with respect to series capacitor statuses at these stations.
ERCOT will provide additional Market Notices for the other CREZ transmission lines as their series capacitors are placed in-service to assist Market Participants in preparations for this activity.

LONG DESCRIPTION: Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 562, Subsynchronous Resonance (SSR), was approved by the ERCOT Board on June 13, 2017.
As a result, ERCOT is phasing in the placement of series capacitors on Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) and non-CREZ transmission lines. Over the next several weeks, ERCOT will be directing Transmission Owners who operate these
series capacitors to begin placing their series capacitors in-service. This will start with the Lonestar series capacitors at the Romney and Kopperl substations and AEP/ETT series capacitors at the Cenizo and Del Sol substations being placed in-service on
July 13, 2017 at approximately 10:00.
ERCOT will provide additional Market Notices for the other CREZ transmission lines as their series capacitors are placed in-service to assist Market Participants in preparations for this activity.
