All PGDTF TSP members,

Just a reminder that the TSP GIC resubmission based on the new SSWG base case and new GIC System Model Template is due this Friday (10/20/2017). Please prepare your GIC input file and send it to [log in to unmask] by the deadline.

When preparing your GIC input file, please make sure:

1.       All bus numbers that show up in the new SSWG base case and belong to the same TSP should be included in the “SubstationData” Tab of that TSP’s GIC input file. If a bus number is in a TSP range but not owned by that TSP, the TSP should list the bus in the extra buses tab and coordinate with another TSP who own that bus.

2.       One substation should be unique although it may include some buses that are owned by different TSPs.  These TSPs should coordinate with each other to make sure only one TSP lists this substation.

3.       The bus numbers, bus number order, and circuit ID of transformers and lines are the same as those in SSWG base cases.

4.       2 bus numbers for 2-winding transformer or 3 bus numbers for a 3-winding transformer should be in the same substation.

Please let Omar or ERCOT know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

PGDTF,

Attached is the new GIC System Model Template (used for TSP data submissions). As discussed in the Face to Face meeting on Friday, the new template has an additional tab for bus numbers in a TSP range that are not submitted in the Substation Tab (e.g. a bus number in a TSP range that is actually in another TSP station). The TSPs must coordinate with each other if a bus in their range is in another TSP station. It is not sufficient to just list it in the extra buses tab.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best Regards,

Omar A. Urquidez, PhD, P.E.
