NOTICE DATE:  December 11, 2017

NOTICE TYPE:  M-A071917-14 CRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT postpones the CRR MUI upgrade project go-live date

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRR Account Holders and Counter-Parties

DAY AFFECTED:  January 22, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) Market User Interface (MUI) upgrade project was scheduled to go-live January 22, 2018. ERCOT has decided to postpone that date after taking into account a number of factors, including outstanding defects and the readiness status of functionality. ERCOT is continuing to receive software releases and test functionality and will finalize a new go-live date at a later time. A Market Notice will be sent no later than 30 days prior to the new go-live date.

In earlier communications, ERCOT stated that all CRR Account Holders were required to pass a requalification test prior to December 8, 2017, in order to participate in auctions occurring on or after January 22, 2018. No further actions are required for those entities that have requalified, regardless of the postponement. Additionally, ERCOT stated that newly registered CRR Account Holders will cease to be qualified on the current MUI on December 8, 2017. Neither of these date restrictions remain in force. Until a new date is determined and communicated, ERCOT will continue to qualify newly registered CRR Account Holders on both the current MUI and the new MUI, in preparation for the upgrade.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT will continue to provide project updates at the Congestion Management Working Group (CMWG) meetings. Implementation of any Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) or System Change Request (SCR) impacted by this postponement will be communicated to the Protocol Revision Subcommittee (PRS). Market Notices for those will be sent no later than 10 days prior to implementation.
