We realize some of you are attending SPWG March 6 at the MET and we have requested that validation of your models occur either Monday or as early as possible
on Tues.

We will solicit your menu choices for lunch and do what we can** to accommodate health (allergies) or dietary restrictions (vegetarian). (**If your dietary
requirements are very unique we encourage you bringing your lunch in.)
IMPORTANT
You need a WinTel Laptop (Windows 7 Enterprise recommended) with admin rights to allow (a) installation of the training licenses and (b) latest GIC ERCOT system model. PTI will be providing a training copy and dongle-free license for PSS-E and GIC. ERCOT will
provide the latest GIC system model we have (location and method to be announced).
AUDIENCE: Confidentiality concerns have been relaxed slightly and we are allowing contractors - with email approval from a full-time-employee of the TSP - to attend.
The employee should RSVP for the contractor and clearly include their title and company name. The contractor' s Company Name & Address; Job Title; Work Email Address are also required. Obviously contractors should be very familiar with your models and using
PSS-E.
Sorry - visitors from non-ERCOT markets are not allowed (e.g. SPP, MISO, NYISO, NPCC, etc.)
PREP: We highly recommend viewing the video “GIC Calculations Using PSSE”.
We do NOT recommend
"Calculating Geomagnetic Induced Currents (CICs) for Geomagnetic Disturbances (GMDs)",
it is outdated.
