SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Update to the North to Houston Generic Transmission Constraint

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  March 22, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On March 22, 2018, one of the lines from Gibbons Creek to Zenith was placed into service as part of the Houston Import Project.  The energization of this line modifies the definition of, and limits associated with, the North to Houston Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC).  ERCOT has performed an additional assessment of the North to Houston GTC, taking into account the installation of the two Gibbons Creek – Zenith 345 kV lines.  The results of that assessment have been posted to the Market Information System (MIS).  The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants about these changes.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the “Generic Transmission Constraints” portlet.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
