SHORT DESCRIPTION:  New Generic Transmission Constraint in the San Angelo area

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 18, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  As a result of the Q2 2018 Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA), performed pursuant to Planning Guide Section 5.9, Quarterly Stability Assessment, ERCOT has identified the need to create a Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in the San Angelo area due to the installation of a new Generation Resource in the region.  The GTC is established to address instability issues along the San Angelo Power Station – Yellow Jacket 138 kV line and has been named the Treadwell GTC.

The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants about the need for the Treadwell GTC.  ERCOT will begin enforcing limits for this GTC on May 18, 2018.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area in the “Generic Transmission Constraints” portlet.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
