SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details of NPRR815

LONG DESCRIPTION: On June 1, 2018, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 815, Revise the Limitation of Load Resources Providing Responsive Reserve (RRS) Service. NPRR815 revises the current limit of 50% to 60% for RRS from Load Resources on high-set under-frequency relays, and specifies RRS minimum capacity required from Resources providing Primary Frequency Response shall not be less than 1,150 MW.
Along with the implementation of the system changes for NPRR815, the 2018 ERCOT Methodologies for Determining Ancillary Service Requirements ("AS Methodology") will be updated. Specifically, the NPRR815 grey-boxes within the Responsive Reserve (RRS) Requirement Details section will be unboxed.
The new Ancillary Service quantities for June through December 2018<https://mis.ercot.com/misapp/GetReports.do?reportTypeId=13036&mimic_duns=183529049>, reflecting the implementation of NPRR815 and the continuation of the adjustment described in Market Notice W-A012318-01 Adjustment to 2018 Minimum Monthly Ancillary Service Requirements, have been posted on ERCOT's Market Information System (MIS). These new Ancillary Service quantities will be effective beginning June 1, 2018 and will be used in the May 31, 2018 Day-Ahead Market (DAM) execution for the June 1, 2018 Operating Day.
Note that the posted quantities reflect minimum requirements only. ERCOT will follow-up with a Notification if any upward adjustments to these minimum quantities are made.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
