SHORT DESCRIPTION: Posting of Independent Market Monitor (IMM) and ERCOT Reports Concerning Impacts of Real-Time Co-Optimization and Marginal Losses and Posting of Software and Data Used by IMM to Estimate Co-Optimization Benefits
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: June 29, 2018
LONG DESCRIPTION: Today, the Independent Market Monitor (IMM) for the ERCOT Region, Potomac Economics, filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) in Project No. 47199 its report assessing the impacts of incorporating co-optimization of energy and Ancillary Services into Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED). A link to download the software developed by the IMM for this study as well as the publicly available data supporting the analysis are now posted on the IMM Benefits Study<http://www.ercot.com/mktinfo/rtm/immtool> page of ERCOT.com. The shift factor data used in the IMM's analysis are posted as "IMM Software Real-Time Co-Optimization Input Files" on the Reports and Extracts<https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Reports/Reports> page of the MIS Secure Area and are available only with an ERCOT Digital Certificate.
ERCOT also filed a report today with the PUCT in Project No. 47199 describing the operational benefits of co-optimization and quantifying the expected benefits of co-optimization on Reliability Unit Commitment and Supplemental Ancillary Services Markets. ERCOT also simultaneously filed a report in the same project addressing the benefits of incorporating marginal losses into SCED.
The IMM and ERCOT reports described above are available on the Reports and Presentations<http://www.ercot.com/news/presentations> page of ERCOT.com.
