SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Planned system maintenance with impacted services

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 13, 2019 15:30 - 17:30 

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will be performing planned system maintenance of several source databases and applications on May 13, 2019, within a maintenance window of 15:30 - 17:30. During this system maintenance, market submissions will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes and real-time communications will be unavailable for approximately five minutes. All systems should re-establish communications automatically.

During the maintenance period, Market Participants may experience intermittent issues with the following services:

Note that the outage is scheduled to begin at approximately 15:30; however, this start time may be delayed depending on the current system conditions. A Hotline call will be made to Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources and Transmission Operators (TOs) to announce the start of the outage, and another Hotline call will be made at the completion of the outage.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources may be instructed to follow Emergency Base Points during the outage. QSEs and Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) will need to refrain from making submissions in Market Manager and Outage Scheduler during the outage period as the submissions will not be accepted.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Note that the Market Information System (MIS) and Current Day Reports (CDR) system will be impacted. Reports will be rerun and reposted as applicable. The MIS Dashboards and ERCOT.com price displays will not be populated with data during this timeframe.

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Planned system maintenance with impacted services

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: May 28, 2019, 15:30 – 17:00 CDT

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will be performing planned system maintenance of Energy and Market Management systems (EMS and MMS) databases on May 28, 2019, during a maintenance window of 15:30 – 17:00 CDT.

During the maintenance period, Market Participants will experience an outage on the following services from 16:15 until 16:45 CDT.

  • MMS – Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED)/Look Ahead SCED applications may be unavailable for 3 SCED intervals during the 16:15 - 16:45 CDT time frame.
  • Base Points from SCED may not be created for 3 SCED intervals during 16:15 - 16:45 CDT time frame. During this period, Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources may be required to follow Emergency Base Points from ERCOT Load Frequency Control.
  • Market submissions and requests via Web Services, Market Manager and Outage Scheduler.
  • Report publishing to the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS).
  • Downloading of extracts and reports from MIS and WebServices.
  • The MIS Dashboards and ERCOT.com price displays will not be populated.

·         The following reports may be unavailable:  

  • SCED and RTD Reports
  • NSA Active and Inactive Constraint Reports
  • State Estimator Reports
  • NSA Active and Inactive Constraint Reports
  • Real-Time Dynamic Rating Data Reports
  • Wind Power Production - 5-minute Averaged Actual values
  • Solar Power Production – 5-minute Averaged Actual values

Note that the start and completion times of this maintenance may be delayed depending on system conditions at that time.  A Hotline call to Market Participants will be executed prior to and following completion of the maintenance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Note that the MIS and Current Day Reports (CDR) system will be impacted. Reports will be rerun and reposted as applicable. The MIS Dashboards and ERCOT.com price displays will not be populated with data during this timeframe.
