High Voltage Bus Protection Bus differential relays protect the bus from internal faults based on Khirchoff's current law that states the sum of the currents entering a given node must be equal to the currents leaving that node. During GMD Event the currents including the harmonics into the bus are equal to the currents from the bus and will not affect the differential protection except where primary and secondary current transformers respond differently to harmonics. As a voting member of the ROS, I will have a hard time endorsing this document if it doesn't give some direction on high-bus diff.
