SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update to the Generic Limits for the Lobo – North Edinburg Generic Transmission Constraint

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED: November 20, 2019

LONG DESCRIPTION: Based on the results of the Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA) for Q4 of 2019, performed pursuant to Planning Guide Section 5.9 Quarterly Stability Assessment, ERCOT has identified updates to the Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) in the Lobo – North Edinburg area. The updates result from the installation of new Generation Resources in the region. The GTC was first established in 2016 to address instability issues in the Lobo area.

The purpose of this notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of this update to the Lobo – North Edinburg GTC.  ERCOT will begin enforcing the updated limits for this GTC on November 20, 2019.

Details associated with all existing GTCs can be found on the ERCOT MIS Secure Area in the “Generic Transmission Limits” portlet.  A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
